Is DreamIT Host 100% Australian Owned and Operated?

Yes, we are proud to be 100% Australian Owned and Operated. We have servers located within Australia, and our support team is based in Melbourne.

Can you help me migrate my website to your servers?

Yes, let our expert team move your websites, files and emails across to our network, free of charge and with no downtime at all.

Do you offer a satisfaction guarantee?

Yes, we offer a 45 Day Satisfaction Guarantee. Our customers love us, and we know you will too! If you’re unhappy with our services, we will issue you a refund within 45 days. Our satisfaction guarantee is only applicable with our web hosting, email hosting and reseller hosting services.

Do you provide support over the phone?

Phone support is available Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM-7:00 PM AEST. If you are an existing customer, please check to ensure that your plan includes phone support. If your plan does not have phone support, please raise a support ticket from your MyDreamIT account at any time with as much detail as possible so we can resolve your enquiry.

How long does domain activation take after placing my order?

The domain is activated usually within 15 minutes of placing the order. If there is an issue with registering the domain, our team will reach out to you via support ticket.

How long do domain transfers take?

Domain transfers take anywhere between 2-5 business days from when clients accept the confirmation email sent out to the email address linked to the domain.

Is it free to transfer a domain?

Only domains ending in .au are free to transfer; they will retain their current expiry. Other domains will incur a fee to transfer over and generally add another year on top of their existing expiry.

Do I require an ABN for .au and .org domains?

The AUDA requires an ABN to register a domain ending in .au or .org. Domains ending in .org need a not-for-profit ABN number, or the domain will not be applicable for registration.

Why should I become a domain reseller?

By reselling domains, you’ll get access to discounted domain pricing and extremely high-performance Australian and New Zealand web hosting services. We’ll even migrate your client’s sites onto our fast servers.

Where are your servers located?

DreamIT Host operates servers in Sydney, Melbourne, Auckland and Singapore.

Can I have multiple domains?

You can have multiple domains linking to one hosting account. This is known as ‘Addon Domains’. Our Web Hosting and Email Hosting plans allow up to 10 Addon Domains. On our Reseller Hosting plans, you can have unlimited domains.

How many email accounts can one hosting plan have?

Depending on your Email Hosting plan, you can have a minimum of 5 email accounts and up to unlimited email accounts. All Web Hosting and Reseller Hosting plans include unlimited email accounts. We don’t charge a per-user fee at DreamIT Host. You are only limited to the storage quota on your plan.

Will your Email Hosting work if I built my website on WordPress/Wix/Squarespace/Weebly?

Yes, this is one of the main reasons why customers choose our Email Hosting. Your website builder may not offer email hosting but we have multiple options to suit your needs so you can upgrade as your business grows.

Do I need an SSL Certificate for my website?

Having an SSL Certificate accomplishes two goals – it keeps your website secure and protects anyone who visits your website. It will keep your website safe from security threats, such as phishing scams and data breaches. All eCommerce/online stores need to ensure that SSL is enabled as personal information is requested when a customer completes the checkout page.

Will an SSL improve my Google SEO ranking?

Yes, an SSL Certificate is the easiest way to boost your Google ranking.

How will people know if I have SSL enabled on my website?

When a website has SSL enabled, the URL will begin with “HTTPS”, and there is often an image of a small lock to the left of the address bar.

Do you offer free SSL?

Yes, we will provide a free standard SSL Certificate (valued at $24.95) as long as your domain points to one of our hosting plans/servers. Your domain will automatically have it configured within 24 hours.

Do you offer free SSL for all accounts on a Reseller Hosting plan?

Yes, we offer free SSL Certificates from Let’s Encrypt® on all DirectAdmin accounts so you and your customers won’t need to purchase any on top of your hosting plan.

Can I use the DreamIT Website Builder without a hosting plan from DreamIT Host?

No, you will need to purchase a Web Hosting plan. The DreamIT Website Builder is included in all Web Hosting plans.

I have no web design experience, will I be able to use the DreamIT Website Builder?

Yes, it is an easy-to-use drag and drop website builder that requires no skill to get started. Simply edit your website, text and images by clicking on them in the builder.

Can I use the DreamIT Website Builder if I already have a website built on WordPress/Magento/Shopify?

Yes, your existing website can be imported into the DreamIT Website Builder. Try it now! Scroll back up the page and enter your website’s URL then click Import!

Can I use the DreamIT Website Builder to create an eCommerce/online store?

Yes, there are store and cart utilities available to turn an existing or new website into an eCommerce website.

Will my website, files and emails be backed up?

Yes, we use JetBackup to automatically backup your websites, files and emails. Backups are completed hourly/daily/weekly/monthly and you can restore information from your control panel.

I need more resources than a Reseller Hosting account. What are my options?

If you have outgrown the max quota of our Reseller Hosting, you may want to consider a Managed Server instead. With a Managed Server, you will receive access to an entire server and all its resources.

Do I need a Reseller Email Hosting plan if I already have a Reseller Web Hosting plan?

You will be able to link your Reseller Web Hosting emails with your Reseller Email Hosting, which will save storage space on your hosting service.

How does VPS Hosting differ from Shared Hosting or Dedicated Hosting?

A Virtual Private Server (VPS) is a combination of Shared and Dedicated Hosting. VPS Hosting is recommended for websites that require more than the resource limits of your Shared Hosting server. Think of a VPS server as renting a portion of a Dedicated Server.

Can I create a custom VPS?

Yes, when you sign up to a VPS you can choose your preferred server location, software, backups, monitoring options and more.

How do I know if I need to upgrade to a Managed Server?

We recommend Managed Servers for large businesses with high-traffic websites (over 1000 visitors per day).

Will a CDN make my website load faster?

Yes, a CDN speeds up your website by bringing your content closer to your users. The DreamIT Host CDN has 55 Points of Presence worldwide.

Is it worth getting a CDN if I already have a DreamIT Host hosting plan?

Yes, we compared website loading times for websites on our regular web hosting plans versus websites that incorporate the DreamIT Host CDN. The test loading time for a website on our regular plan was roughly 2.5 seconds, while the DreamIT Host CDN speed was 0.7 seconds.

Can I sign up for a DreamIT Host CDN if my website is being hosted by another provider?

Yes, you don’t need to have a hosting plan with DreamIT Host to use our CDN services.

Do you have an Affiliate Program?

Yes, you can activate the Affiliate Program by clicking on the Affiliates tab in your My DreamIT account. For more information, scroll down to the bottom of this page and click on “Affiliate Program” under the Company heading. You can also go to dreamithost.com.au/affiliate-program.
